Shit Camp 2: xQc Whoop-di-doo

From Ginx Esports TV

On September 6 begun the second iteration of Shit Camp. Shit Camp is a huge irl collaboration between many of the main characters and their friends. Months ago, Sodapoppin (co owner of OTK) stated he would not be attending. Big whoop but then the day of, QT would learn that “xQc” Felix would also not be coming. That was a true damper since there was no warning even on the day. Charlie stated that Felix is not used to informing people when he randomly cancels so this was not strange. Ludwig revealed that later on they found a message from Felix that he stated his reason was that since Soda wasn’t going. Everyone from one end of the fandom to the other pressured him for a real answer especially since Soda said he warned Felix months ago.

So finally Felix relented as Ludwig said it was due to issues with his girlfriend “Adept” Sami. Now the whole event between Felix and Sami was unfortunately telegraphed by the former. From what I understand, there was some combability issues between their families when they finally clashed (the two had been dating for 4 years). Due to that incompatibility though, Felix’s brother and parents felt resentment toward Sammy, I think. Sammy would ask Felix to defend her but this never happened. After a final straw, Sammy blew it with the family and Felix was forced to choose between the two of them. Felix never felt that Sammy was in the wrong but had to choose his family. At this point nothing was public so he lied about his reason for not going. He was willing to “taking the hit and protecting her” because he felt there was no hate to be had in this situation. He did receive derision, so much so that he revealed the real reason (family drama) that he wasn’t going with Adept to Shit Camp.

Some time last week (I think Sept 16), QT made a tweet attacking xQc of which I cannot find. Sammy talked about the situation on stream but she was very vague. All anyone could conclude was that Felix’s family was not the nicest to her. She felt like she shouldn’t reveal too much because she is not about all that drama. Felix then raided her stream and called her in order to clarified some things. His second intent was to protect her at all costs, as he repeats, because she isn’t in the wrong but he also was tired of taking damage. The conversation got heated as Felix tried to prop himself up as a self righteous hero while Sammy still feels betrayed that he never defended her against his family. She also points out that the only reason she’s “blasting his family now” is because he already made this stuff public. Felix now takes offense because it does look like she’s cooking up drama now which is becoming too hot for him to just tank. The conversation collapses at their confusion on who the victim was here.

You can also watch the vod around 6 hours and 20 minutes. Genuinely, there isn’t a ‘side’ to take here. You are a kindergartener of drama if you take sides. Why? They aren’t even having the same conversation. Felix is defending his process of revealing the tea while Sammy thinks he’s punishing himself. Felix thinks she’ll escalate the situation while she doesn’t want him to involve her. Blah blah blah, it was a crazy conversation. I don’t even know how he released the information initially so I feel less of a reason to take sides. They also both have a lot of passion for each other, they weren’t trying to insult one another. Just whatever.

On September 20th, Felix called her again while he was streaming to talk about the break up. It was kind of awkward between the two especially because they both seemed to be fishing for some kind of validation. Sammy wanted Felix to reassure his fans as she still loves him but they aren’t getting back together. Felix just wanted to know if he was a good person. They spent the majority of it recounting memories and Felix’s faults but I did not watch the whole thing. They reached the conclusion that being the drama is bad and regretted the situation. They also both blame QT for starting this shit.
