Everything You’ve Ever Wanted

Yooooo Josh and Jen are dating!! This passes by a few weeks until they finally smash. I guess it pays to not fuck on the first date. Then he just ghosts her which starts to worry me. Maybe Josh is as evil as the theories said or he’s secretly hosting a show with his brother Drake. But no we won’t get to see as Jen is invited to Blonsky’s spiritual retreat where we get to meet Man-Bull, el Aguila, the Porcupine, Saracen and later on the Wrecker as captions call him. This is all a very fun and color cast. I love Bull and Aguila’s chemistry especially later in the group scene when they act codependent or whatever. Porcupine is cool and I like Saracen’s no nonsense attitude. The Wrecker also just seems as a regular person in this episode, whether or not his remorse is real.
No surprisingly we get no B Plot as we completely immerse ourselves (excluding Jen) in this off the web retreat. She finally does break when meting the Wrecker where for the first time we see her flying off in rage. Now understandably, he did attacker her, but also at the time and in the episode after, she didn’t give a shit? Maybe it’s because she’s actually angry deep inside at Josh for ghosting her and decides to release it on Wrecker but it still feels weird. Again, he does seem regular here. Then Jen opens up to the group about Josh and they instantly bond with her, that’s hilarious. They discover Jen’s issue is the separating of personas which, as she relays, causes her to idolize and even be jealous of She-Hulk while more Jen gets no play. That is why she relies on Josh so much, because he did like Jen but they reassure her others could too. Marvel media is really good at creating very unrelatable identity crises for each other their characters.
This was a really good character breakdown episode and I kind of hate the people that dropped the show before hand. I mean, this really is the kind of character writing we were looking for in these shows, since they have the time limit for it. Wanda’s character in Wandavision was shit and only somewhat explored, Loki’s was decently explored but in a weird way, I don’t know what we learned about Falcon or Hawkeye but they’re old, and Moon Knight could be better. These other shows also just spend enough time on action or super stuff so they can ignore deeper characters. But in Ms Marvel and here, they do enough regular people stuff that you can actually connect. Of course, those two still pale in comparison to the Defenders but hey I could at least say Gao is trying here and succeeding. Also, every other character is entertaining in their own way. Like the plots aren’t cinema level like Moon Knight was but I’m not bored watching a guy kill himself because two colored women spoke up. Shit great.
I will also say, this feel like a good final episode on character writing meaning the next two episodes is probably just whatever supervillain plot they are building up to with stealing Jen’s blood. WHOA THERE’S TWO EPISODES LEFT. But hey actually that’s cool. I don’t even want to see Murdock anymore. That might overwhelm the show and he isn’t necessary for the She-Hulk experience. We also haven’t seen Frog Man from the trailer but I care about him even less. We’ll see on the next underrated and overhated She-Hulk.

Oh lmao here comes ribbits. That’s what I’m calling him, Leapfrog. “Time to ribbit and rip it” is such a hard catchphrase that I have to call him Ribbit. It also sounds like he’s about to Beyblade. So Jen is talking to Eugene Patililio who wants recompense for his bad boots which was made by LUKE JACOBSON. The fact that Halloway doesn’t care just makes me question if he ever denies a case but later we see that this case will offend Jacobson the most. I love his sass and attitude here because not only does he have the ego of a fashionista but also the go of a superhero. “Goodbye tragedy” lmao.
MATTHEW MURDOCK. Yeah he’s okay. He comes in with a fire joke and immediately lays down the law. As he has a back and forth with She-Hulk, he mentions that the Sokovia Accords were repealed. Yooo big news, that dogshit movie officially doesn’t matter. Also we’re completely ignoring the already completed character of Jen here. The biggest fear any Daredevil show fan had was how he would be portrayed on the Disney Channel. So in this scene, I will say Charlie Cox’s voice sounds a little stifled or whatever, but that’s harmless. The man is British. Also in later scenes, it was completely alright so maybe that day he drank something bad. What he did say surprised me because he was very delicately tip toeing around the fact that he was protecting his own privacy. This continues to surprise me later during the bar conversation Jen and Matt have. He basically admits he is secretly a superhero although because of his lack of elaboration and Jen’s lack of questioning it, it’s not out there completely. Which is like, huge tiptoeing. In the show, a stranger wouldn’t be able to convince Murdock that he is DD even if he was wearing the suit. Okay that’s an exaggeration but if you remember the “Royal Dragon” episode, Luke Cage was on his hands and knees begging Daredevil to remove his mask and just give a first name. Karen, Foggy, and Claire all learn only when he was under duress. Fisk probably learns when Matt visits him in prison there because he was also tip toeing. I assume Frank assumed when they met in court but Matt’s identity doesn’t matter to him, only his actions of protecting scumbags. All I’m is, it’s already a long list so adding random Avenger lawyer to it seems risky to me. Also, I didn’t see anyone mention it, but he referred to himself as blind here. I think he may have only done that once before but he usually just lets people assume his condition as he doesn’t wanna complicate them with he explanation he gave Claire. The funniest part in the “Royal Dragon” episode was that Danny Rand kept arguing that he couldn’t be DD because he’s blind. As the martial artist that can make his hands glow. But this is treated as a joke calling himself blind in the scene so maybe this is still an accurate translation of the character.
He does spend the conversation to inspire her to adopt his method of heroing. Um from as much as I know in Marvel media, there’s three ways to be a superhero. In the Stark School, you are a well known figure who walks both as a hero and normo who will be made responsible for all actions, no matter the persona. In the Parker School, you keep some anonymity and mostly help society as the superhero while using your regular life to relax. Then in the Murdock School, both personas are treated individually but you help society in both cases. That’s the most I expected for the DD episode, for him to show up and advise her on how to hero. Then as he was leaving, he was kind of awkward which I think charmed her. Still at this point, compared to Josh and the doctor guy, I don’t think she was head over heels yet.
Then Todd calls Jen one final suspicious time. At this point, even if he wasn’t connected to the main villain, he is as much as a villain as Titania. Talking about “some colonizers stole a spear but I got the receipt”.
Eugene calls up Jen who jumps in the middle of the car chase. Then finally, we meet the Golden Daredevil. Oh and the music *delicious*. I was wondering how Daredevil vs She-Hulk would go since he cannot harm her. But he doesn’t even need to punch her as he agilely avoids her with a “my ass remains unwhopped”. Also time to talk about that line, why are you people mad at it? I know DD doesn’t talk in his fights unless to demand shit, but this is a little remark. He always does these smartass remarks as Murdock. Watch the old show, I promise you. She-Hulk finally overpowers him with a sonic clap where afterwards he repeats that he’s actually blind.
Now maybe we’ll find more inaccuracies. It’s always a difficulty in explaining DD’s powers if you decide to saying anything else but “I cannot see clearly but my other senses are enhanced”. That is definitionally how his radar sense works. Even when he originally explains it to Claire and the audience, he does a little bit of Togashi over explaining but that works because we have plenty of time in that show and it’s the first time its explained. Now Matt does cringe at Jen’s use of echolocation, as much as I did, but Gao should have just used the dictionary definition I left. It’s not even that hard to understand either, everyone’s theorized that shit since 8 years old. Then as they explain things, DD uses his show’s original theme (very cool) to name himself but it actually makes sense that Jen doesn’t know the small time New York hero known as Daredevil. In universe, Daredevil defeating Fisk and Bullseye was like 8 or 9 years ago and even that was not even a national news story compared to “Winter Soldier blowing up T’Chaka at the UN conference”.
Ribbit’s lair is pretty cool, I like his obsession with amphibians. Now it’s a seductive moment when Matt listens to Jen’s heartbeat but it always takes me out of immersion whenever superheroes can’t believe the feats of other heroes. Or in any supernatural universe. Like yes he can hear heartbeats, you can turn into the Hulk! Or when Iron Fist and Luke Cage were confounded on each other’s abilities. I know people have their own limits of acceptable shit but for me, an omniscient viewer, I feel it a waste of time to act in disbelief. I don’t even have to be convinced of this shit most of the time, some shits just weird. If there are vampires in our universe, I’ll buy it. Real people think there are lizard people controlling Hollywood, you can’t tell me that fictional characters would argue against ghosts or vampires when meeting one. Like damn, do those fictional characters read fiction? Do they wonder about shit outside of the norm? Does Jen really think a guy with echolocation couldn’t hear a heartbeat?
Then they have the argument about how long it will take to invade the Lilypad which is very funny to me. Matt argues it would be 15 seconds for each–which is all this show could afford–or 150 seconds in total. That’s 3 minutes which is a little low in the DD show but then she argues it would take 30 minutes which honestly there’s probably some DD episodes where total action time is 30 minutes. But that show has the runtime for it. She’s just defending the runtime of her own show, lmao. One thing that acts for accuracy is how Matt gatekeeps the action before jumping off. He never wanted any help in fighting because that’s when he let’s the devil out. Although, if he’s outnumbered, he’s not exactly going to stop you helping completely. He also can’t always trust you though, in case you may kill like Elektra or Frank. Cox sells it harshly in this scene which fits perfectly. “You don’t ever do this”. I mean Jen is even lucky she gets to stand around because Murdock just disappeared when Jessica Jones wanted to help in Midtown Circle.
The fifteen seconds we do get do give me memories of the show. The sneaking in, the slow entry, the music build up, and the action! Oh Christ, they actually got the camera man from the Defenders. I mean they must have because they actually use wide and long shots that the MCU is afraid of using. There was a few cuts but it still flowed well. There wasn’t enough blood but he was still brutal. Then the other guys appear and they do the quiet stare. A slow motion tension build up. Oh I’m so hard. Jen does drop through, as expected but I love that they gave us that much in her show.
So as Jen frees Jacobson and berates Eugene, we do get to see DD still beat up on folks like it’s still his show. The only thing we’re missing is his special flip kick down smash that was usually a finisher in his show. They have a final conversation where DD just claims the W for himself calling her a sidekick. I love their chemistry. It actually really works. Then we get to sin.
You see, Matt’s Catholic but I assumed he never fucked Elektra. She always acts like no one loves her and she never mentions any other partner. Buuuut, I don’t know if he and Jen actually penetrated. They could have just kissed and held hands. Perhaps he’ll just go confess. “Father, you must understand, it was She Hulk”.
Then yes, we get to the final section which feels weird as Jen says but mostly because this award ceremony wasn’t built up in this episode. The ceremony does award multiple female lawyers of the year which only make me wonder what the other awards are. Then, the Intelligencia sabotages the event, calling Jen a slut, and exposing how she fucked with Josh. Jen takes this chance to get angry, destroying the screen in one smash. The alarm and red lighting give her a good atmosphere. She almost catches the masked Todd, fuckface should hide his face, before getting arrested unfortunately. I uh, don’t find this to be the hubris moment I talked about at first.
This episode was nice. It was cool to see Matt and Jen genuinely fall in love with each other while also dealing with Eugene who is the least annoying antagonistic male presented so far.

The final episode opens with a funny little oldies intro which just seems to be a dream of her. The gang come to plea deal her way out of prison where she argues that she was justifiably angry. But maybe that’s the problem, the possibility of becoming angry. For Bruce, he’s always angry so nothing exceptional ticks him off (outside of mind control). For Emil, he’s never angry because his enlightenment made him passive enough to ignore triggers. But Jen never tried to reach these states in her training. Throughout the show, she showed good and bad control of anger so that inconsistency may be a folly. At least that’s what I can conclude.
As she falls into a depression, she decided to visit the Retreat. At the same time, Nikki and Pug infiltrate the Hulkking’s little party. There is perfect representation of cucks, incels, and anons here all led by Todd. Todd’s villain speech reveals that he thinks Jen freely asked for these powers and Bruce was super happy to give them. Todd also makes a mistake thinking that superpowers, in the Marvel universe, should be granted to those that want it or are best fit which simply does not happen. Every marvel character, hero or villain, is cursed by their powers. Even his powers will simply be canned because it does not fit that ideology. Later, he also says he earned them. Um? How? Besides stealing…
So when Jen does get to the retreat, she meets the Wrecker who inadvertently leads her to Todd’s little party. I was surprised that Emil was involved even if he only hosted the villains but um damn shit okay. This is also why I feel like Wrecker is totally normal because he gains nothing in telling Jen where to find Emil. It is funny to just see ABOMINATION walk down the aisle just cheered on by these soy boys who he assumes read his book.
Then Jen walks in. “Strictly for profit” he says as she acts for an explanation. Then it is revealed to Jen who Todd is along with Josh. Todd transforms in like a buff chibi version of the Hulk. I don’t know how else to explain it. Even Bruce is not athletics, why does Todd look shitty? Bro thinks second hand Hulk transfusion makes him super. It is funny how Jen contests this with “this can’t possibly be where this season was heading” even though everyone theorized this. I am surprised Todd is getting Hulked and not his potential boss but this is definitely where it was heading.
Then Titania comes in! Then Bruce! It’s a battle royale! After weeks of mocking fans for their thoughts on the show (despite this all being filmed months ago) Jen is completely shocked to find that this may be working for the audience. I mean, I don’t like Hulk and Titania jumping in but how else was this going to finish? Furious, she visits the writers room arguing against Jessica Gao herself until Kevin is mentioned. As she hunts down Kevin, we walk down through Marvel HQ which is very fanservicey for someone who never visited. Fanservicey in a good way, I was a fan who was serviced.
Finally we meet Kevin who is a robot with a stupid acronym. Kevin makes a freaking budget joke before explaining everything. I kind of hate on the nose budget jokes (except the one from Chowder), just a pet peeve. I do like how Jen deconstructs the formula of god fight endings which I think is the worst part about Moon Knight specifically. DAREDEVIL! Honestly very based for him to drop in from literally nowhere.
I like the final lunch scene, it’s heartwarming and Matt gets some happy moments. We get to see Bruce (still in that Hulk form) and Skaar from Sakar. Dumbass name. The final final scene with the reporter is a very satisfactory goodbye. Oh wait then there was the final final final scene between Emil and Wong who just both break the fourth wall. Well I guess it’s shattered by then. I pray for Madisynn return.
