Like over two months ago, I was supposed to finish writing a review of the Defender’s Saga that was on Netflix but now on Disney+. And then I also wanted to pitch an idea for Defenders Season 2 but neither of those trains were really leaving the station. There was something else burning in me. You see, I’ve had this lineup for the X-Force for a year or two and there will be a different article explaining that but now I wanted to do just a quick little short story to see how the characters interact.
Logan- the Wolverine, Canadian superhero and gruff guy. Smokes huge cigars, serious but likes to have fun, loves homicide. The shortest but also the leader. Yellow and Blue.
Wade Wilson- the Deadpool, Canadian mock superhero and assassin, silly guy. Breaks the fourth wall and can’t stop talking although I can’t write super talkative characters so he’s less annoying than he’s supposed to be. A hedonist with no faults. I also like torturing him since he’s immortal. The tallest. Red and Black.
Kwannon- the Psylocke. She is a very complicated character if you don’t know but for this version; British psychic spy Betsy Braddock found herself in the lair of the Mandarin. His best soldier, Kwannon, already lost her own memories due to the Weapon VI Formula but as Betsy peered into her mind, she found that the girl just wants to die. As Kwannon moves in to execute Betsy, Betsy switches minds with her. Kwannon dies happily in Betsy’s body while Betsy remain in Kwannon’s body. She loses her memories once more but retains some of her personality such as speaking like a Brit bonger, being a bit tomboyish, condescending, and friendly. She also still has her array of psychic powers but they are weaker than when she was Braddock. I actually don’t know much of anything of the comic character Braddock so I instinctively wrote her similar to Kagura from Gintama because she is surrounded by boys but is a strong woman on her own. I mention it really late in the story but she has naturally purple hair. Purple and Pink.
Pietro Maximoff- the Quicksilver. Are you supposed to spell it like that? Anyways, the first two may seem like obvious choices and the third feels natural but you must be wondering what this boy is doing here. I find him to be an ultimate balance. Logan and the last member are totally serious while Kwannon and Wade are totally silly. He’s fluid in between the two being able to be put in any situation. He doesn’t have much of a personality in comics but I kept his hotheadedness (comes form the fact that he thinks faster than others so he feels smarter) and bullheadedness. He’s also very coolheaded because his speed allows him to understand things quicker, his brain speeds through the process of anxiety in any situation. He feels very free as a person. Silver and Blue.
Namor- the Submariner. Now you’re shocked. He’s the final pick here because here, Atlantis does not exist. He’s just another government experiment. I liked Tenoch Huerta so he is Hispanic here but it’s less impactful to the story. He’s still the brash, arrogant, imposing, condescending, selfish, honorable, flexible, and mean freak from the comics. Don’t worry about that. I decided he should also have a Vegeta cut, they feel like the same archetype to me. The fact that he’s a merman with gills is also not spoken to in this story although he still has the ankle wings and he has a trident. Physically the strongest one on the team, he’s also the sensible second leader. Oh he’s the most fun to write to be honest. He believes anything should work for him! Green and Blue.
So that’s the team. The story is kind of just a What If scenario. It’s not canon to any continuity in the Marvel universe although you will see the characters involved still have a history here. I’m kind of experimenting with those histories, hopefully you’ll like them although again, it won’t make sense. Don’t try to run in this story just cause you have some pre-knowledge and don’t run away because you aren’t into Marvel. There will be no follow up or precursor, this is just a one shot.
