Weeks after the Creator Clash, Ian finally posted a response to the Froggy drama. He excuses himself because he needed the event to be focused on not this so he is only responding now. My prediction was right, he only dropped Cassidy because of Sam but there was a lot more.
A few clarifying things, I thought Harley was more recently trained by Sam but that was for the first Clash and that training potentially gave problems to Ian after the first Clash (although its not like Harley was gassing up Sam like Cassidy did). Hyde spent the whole of last year just bad mouthing Anisa unironically. Not just one slut comment but a consistent compilation of them. Are Anisa and especially Ian supposed to just ignore this? Then Cassidy comes out and says he really likes the guy. No way is he joining the tournament headed by Anisa and Ian. By the way, I forgot, in the docu, Ian asked Sam about his misogynic comments but because of his own retarded persona, he could not clear any claims toward or against it. In this new video, Ian also claims that Cassidy must have some misogyny specifically around women in sex work. He also reveals a bunch of other personality problems from Cassidy that just made him not like the dude even excluding the Hyde alliance.
I will say that Cassidy was on the Official Podcast months before the event and while he seemed nice there, he didn’t get to talk over Jackson and Kaya so I don’t remember him that much. Instead, with one Keemstream, Ian is able to paint Cassidy much worse (although not completely evil) than the Clash Protesters would lead you to believe. According to Ian, Cassidy hates sex workers, was simply uncomfortable with the Clash atmosphere anyways (so why would he stay), an instigator towards Dad, avoidant of cooperation, and basically haughty and self-centered. You see, Keemstar held a Twitter Space with several of the fighters (I should have just watched this for info) and Cassidy really showed his ass when Harley questioned him here. Ian also admits that several other fighters and fans in general were uncomfortable with Hyde and his new simp Cassidy. Ian did not initially want to drop the frog–in a text convo between the two–but the man just couldn’t bare to not hang out with Hyde. And he tells Keem (something to the effect of), “I felt uncomfortable he was basically telling me not to be friends with him” forgetting that this was Ian’s event and Hyde is Ian’s nemesis. Ian’s fine if he friends with him but he can’t be posting gym photos with Anisa’s biggest hater before the event. Its weird and just very selfish from Cassidy as Ian tried to cooperate, “can you just post the Hyde stuff after the event so its not technically related/impactful” but nah. And Ian is not legally harassing Cassidy for $15000 (not $1500).
Last thing, Ian professionally asks Sam Hyde to stop harassing the Johmas and their friends with no loopholes. He does this because several times on his own streams, Hyde admits, “if he just asks, I’ll stop saying stuff about his wife” which I have to point out is such a weird thing. Listening to a few of these clips, its not like what he said could ever be misinterpreted as playful jokes. He does not know Anisa, they’re not friends, and its still really hateful. It’s funny to incels, cucks, simps, and gooning goofballs because they are definitionally afraid of women and think Anisa has overwhelming power over Ian. Seriously, all Anisa haters paint her almost as badly as Hitler painted Jews. According to them, she’s this boss bitch whore on Onlyfans who gets blacked every night and whenever Ian is having too much fun saying nigger, she comes over and disciplines him and he’s all pure now. They think he’s allergic to random extreme humor and an alternate clone of 2016 Idubbz. Horribly cucked people, I pray to God they find solace in a vat of acid. And imagine being the type of person, basically the leader of this hate group, who has to get told not to harass someone he’s never met. Like seriously, that’s just a Green Goblin type bully, harrassing someone as a first refuge. “But I’ll stop if you ask me” why weren’t you just be nice to begin with?
If Hyde is actually funny or gives good advice on his little streams, you fans can have that but also recognize this is a man whose too lost in the sauce. The ultimate reason he had prank Ian in the docu and then avoid him was not because its big funny (it is tiny funny I admit) but also he had nothing to share for the documentary. He is only an entity. Something illusory. You can laugh at his jokes and feel his dead eyes. He simply is not there.
Uh so who wins? If I were a judge, this is a war with no current conclusion. I don’t know if Hyde has stopped bad mouthing Anisa (I’m never checking out this man’s stream) but if he does then he lost the war. At the very least, Ian got to do what he set out so he gets point for that. But if it were up to Chat, the mindless entity of every Internet user, then again neither loses. Sam was able to avoid any attention with the Froggy drama and everything else. His fans can be seen defending him in this Idubbz video. There is potential that Idubbz fans hate Hyde in return but its not something really asked for by Ian. Maybe they can just settle it in the ring in Clash 3.
Now there was one more video Ian posted that “apologizes to the Internet”. It isn’t really related to Creator Clash at all but I’ll lightly address it. It did not seem convo-worthy for Chat, at least I didn’t catch anyone talking about it outside of what a certain Charlie said.
But for Ian, he firstly apologizes to Content Cop victims since the videos were needlessly petty but he adds he still dislikes them. I think this is important because it’s not like those people were any good in the first place. He then gives a wider apology to the Internet. By now, he’s aware that he attracted a bigoted that might’ve misused his content and he may have scared away people he would’ve liked. He escribes one time when a trans person came to meet him at some convention, and they asked “I don’t know if you like my type but I wanted to take a picture” and he was taken aback because he never really said anything transphobic. But considering that he does say nigger faggot and attracts potentially transphobic fans, this is what may cause to scare away genuinely good people from his content. So to him, its not the comedic intention he had with his content but the vitriolic impact he could’ve left behind.
But this is where I had to disagree and even “Moist Critical” Charlie had to disagree. Well we have two different points. I do recognize the problem, it’s a author’s intent vs audience reception. And it sucks that the trans person may think Ian hates them. But as a straight black guy, I never found any broad bigotry from Ian in his videos. He seems to specifically hate people which is totally fine considering the folks he was hating on. I know I only watched a handful but it would seem I would call the rhetoric fairly leftist due to how self aware it was. Like I went back and watched the Content Cop on Jinx. This is an early one with some small time Youtuber that said some dumb stuff. He was black so I thought, “oh maybe Idubbz says some real racist shit here”. Fuck no.
It’s a quick video but there’s a point where Jinx makes a racial observation in his video “how you know you’re in a white person’s house”. He points out some things that I don’t think can be racialized such as letting the microwave ding at zero seconds. According to Jinx, that would never happen in a black household. I guess that is forgetting the fact that this specific thing has been such a popular meme for so long that I have not seen a person in real life let a microwave finish (I do tho, idc). In the video, Idubbz responds by flipping the joke on its head, putting out how non-racial the examples were rather than making fun of black people. The rest of the video knocked Jinx for his boring content and the fact that he sometimes just reacts to things. Idubbz, ahead of the curb, says here that reaction content is so lazy and won’t take Jinx that far. You see, that part’s ironic because Hasan is super big and yet most of his content is just reactions. And throughout the whole video he says faggot 3 times and nigga once in the chill normal way. I walked in expecting a ranting right winger and left the video enlightened and entertained. Even the comment section is normal. So while I didn’t receive any naughty Idubbz fans in my life, I am partly surprised those bigot types could find the videos. They were probably like that before Idubbz.
And that’s kind of what Charlie says in response to this video. 2016 was the time of extremism on YouTube and Ian was just another actor. He wasn’t that bad and Charlie found him a bit edgy but Charlie says he wasn’t the epitome or director of the toxicity. And people on Twitter got mad at Charlie for saying this, perhaps because they think Charlie disagrees with Ian for apologizing for his own toxicity. But that’s the thing, myself and Charlie both don’t mind Ian’s apology. The apology though is forewarned by Ian building up his past self as if it were the most vitriolic thing on the web and it’s just not. Right now, I only half accept the apology because he feels disconnected to the past but I reject the part that his past was some super racist edgelord. I would fully accept it if he said he only kind of sucked.
Regardless, Ian can do as he pleases. Most people in the comments of this video positively reacted to the video. He goes on to say that he will unlist the videos which means you can still find them on his channel, just not through Google Search. Of course, they have probably been all reuploaded by people before hand. I do rebuke some people having personal problems and projecting that onto Idubbz’s content because it was never evil on its own. As always though, I’ll be happy that creator’s will do whatever (legal) they want to do to entertain us for another day in our dreadful days. Cause shit, I can’t imagine we make it to 2050. Thanks for reading.
