Ratbarf Arc

This happens back in 2020, I just thought of Hazel first. Here is our first online person who was in a Discord server with Yaki. Now from his description of things, it seems that this was Yaki’s own server and so that’s why I call it Yakigorod in my doc. We’ll talk about net societies later.

So Ratbarf has this backstory that leads to why Yaki sucks for him. He explains it in his own doc that I will shorten here. Dating a girl (I’ll call her Catpoop), they break up, and he feels so Romeo about it that he attempts his life. He shares this with his Catpoop after getting over it and they seem to agree to their own things along with keeping it quiet. But Catpoop is close friends with Duchess Yaki and shares details. And then, suddenly, Ratbarf is excommunicated from Yakigorod.

Well damn. Now he admits, Yaki was always a decent ruler before hand if not subtly malevolent. She’d throw slurs (not the racial ones) and be very cliquey. There’d be a clique of ‘nobles’ she liked and then the peasants she didn’t liked. But nobody was worried about anything because all of this rudeness was covered up by her usually wholesome nature.

Well one thing Ratbarf is suspicious of is the group hearing a one sided story about his break up and suicide attempt. So he gathers some of his boys to tell them the truth. I am excited to see that they didn’t fucking mind. Like they just consoled Ratbarf, said they wouldn’t unfriend him, and wanted to support him. That’s why I think they are all men, bros before hoes. Now, after that convo, I do wonder if they left Yakigorod (they never said they would) but at the very least Ratbarf made sure he wouldn’t be friendless.

At the same time, Yaki had softblocked Ratbarf. She had also been otherwise preventing Ratbarf and Catpoop from even communicating to each other. She said in the messages to Ratbarf that this was for her own protection. I just wanted to say, this was overly protective. Hoes before bros. And she had no easy words for Ratbarf so we can see how insulting she may want to be at some times. At least, the tone of the language was really harsh, “U not sorry cut the shit”. Ratbarf couldn’t fight that.

Chat didn’t seem to say much about that. I do think this sucks for Ratbarf as obviously, he was still unsure about his relationship with Catpoop. Hopefully he never feels as heavy for any other women excluding his wife in the future. Keep your head up king, can’t be suiciding over a regular hoe be fr. I bet she not even that bad (okay I’ll stop). The only crime from Yaki is Tyranny for forcibly disallowing any reconciliation between Ratbarf and his baddie.

The lesson from this short story….um, let couples deal with their shit and support from the sidelines. No need to make yourself the main character in their drama.

Nathan Arc

Nathan is the first person we’ll talk about that I came away disliking strongly. Now its 2022, Yaki is full time streaming, Ultima is in the house along with Ruby. But the gang is still impoverished. Biden’s America. The three need to make money anyway they can. Maybe they should open a bar and then spend a week being trash delivery men.

Now Nathan asks Yaki on Twitter dms if she doesn’t mind if he helps. She refuses but comes back later. She hopes this will be a one time thing although she eventually asks him a total of 5 times for help. Now I was halfway through reading Nathan’s doc wondering what is this ‘help’. Video editing? Maybe stream modding? I did not realize.

The way Nathan started his doc with like a backstory on how he LOVES to help people ever since he was younger, and then meanders about he didn’t mind helping her and she kept asking and he was sure this was all okay. Then he has the screenshots of his convo, where she warns him that he shouldn’t be offering so much help and that she even wants to pay him back. Finally it clicked in my head “OHHHHHHHH, he’s sending money! OHHHHHHHH what-“. Cause now I was confused what he would be after.

Then I get to the end of his doc where his has one receipt of $741.73 (possibly of her rent) that she asks for him to pay. He does. But now with other docs coming about how much Yaki sucks, Nathan wonders if all that money sent went to a bad place–if he was feeding a homeless person crack–and suggests that the total he sent her was $3682. He doesn’t want it back but feels bad that such money could have been used by an abuser if she didn’t truly need it.

NIGGA NOBODY CARES! Well Chat did, I didn’t. I checked his replies in shock that people were like consoling him for losing so much money. I was literally so mad when I finished, let me explain why. There’s functionally two types of ways to give money to folks.

  1. Charity. This is informal sharing of the wealth God gifted you and an act verified by Muhammed. You can do a contractual charity like American Alzheimer’s Association or for Cancer research, ect. These are contractual as in if the money is spent incorrectly according to their own contract, the governments of the world will erase them. Literally disobeying their contract in any way is fraud/scam even in the eyes of the government who never received such money.
    • There is also noncontractual charity. Giving some homeless person five dollars, your friend some money, Church offerings, or giving change to things like GoFundMe. These things don’t have any repercussions for anyone involved if the process ‘fails’. There could be corruption but its up to the hand that feeds to punish it.
  2. Loaning. This is something you do with a bank or even other people if you’re that type of person. It involves repayment and sometimes interest. To loan something to someone is justifiably less generous, like your helping them but you also need that shit back at some point. I think adding stuff like interest when loaning to a friend is CRAZY especially if they are flakey because they are still gonna flake! They don’t suddenly have more money just cause you let them borrow for longer at an interest. Now with the bank and other official bodies, repercussions could be had on a failure while I think most people would just unfriend you or not loan money again.

Uh what Nathan was doing was option 1a, just giving money to a friend. That person asked for rent and car repair money but they absolutely could’ve spent it on weed and hookers. AND YOU CAN DO NOTHING ABOUT IT! You can just not give them money again but nobody cares nigga. And that’s the thing, he did so much fronting, I was mad she wasn’t just robbing him. If she robbed him, that would be cool to make a fuss about. This bafoon paid $3682 and is still worried. And he’s a self proclaimed well off kid. But let me not continue to be mad and instead let’s argue in Yaki’s favor.

She didn’t respond to Nathan (who would?) but I would already believe she’s at least kinda poor. You see, he paid her 4 times so that would be around $920.50 each time although one of the payments was for her car repair. The rest were for rent I think. Earlier in year, she was paying near $1000 for rent while Hazel lived there so I imagine the place is lowkey expensive, even with Ultima living there. By the time she asked Nathan, she was only streaming for a couple months and wasn’t that big. She also does a shit ton of traveling for her own reason. Also after the first time, she asked because her dad didn’t respond to her and student loans were late. She still wanted to pay him back a whole grand but he rejected it.

Now in text convos with Ultima most recently, Nathan apologizes to Ultima as if this gifting was implicating him to the abuse. That’s not how it works. Ultima ignores this saying he didn’t know she had bonus funds and then talked about how she didn’t fix her car with supposed money. We do know from Yaki’s doc that whenever she tried to repair her car it was found to be unrepairable so this point is mute. More on Ultima later but he also claims she bought a brand new car most recently when she says it was a used one so no it doesn’t seem she’s super mega secretly rich and also robbing Nathan

Lastly, Chat had claimed Nathan was scammed because she’s a manipulator due to the bias of other stories. Those claims will be explored later but if anything was manipulative, it was Jutsu No.5 Reverse Psychology. You see in one of the convos where she asks him for money, she says (but I’m butchering), “I hope you don’t ever get taken advantaged of…I should also follow my advice”. This could be a genuine advice statement. OR her saying this to someone a bit naive would convince them in the moment that they are in fact not getting taken advantaged of. Because of course, she wouldn’t warn you if it was happening right now to you so it must not be happening. Boom, she did a Reverse Psychology. I digress, if this is her tactic then the N in Nathan is for naivety cause holy shit that’s such a baby tactic. That’s fifth thing you learn in manipulation school! But hey dem’s the breaks.

So from this story, we learn Nathan is a bit naive (and he does admit this) but also overly generous. Like not a single time did he ask for clarification of the use of money so it really was just gifting. Her crime of Scam doesn’t really stick well. About Yaki, we learn she was poor and needy but not so prideful she couldn’t ask for help. The lesson….make a contract with whoever gives you money. Like ask your lawyer and everyone so you can fine them if they mis-used it. Or just shut up. I know three Nathan’s and this is the only one I dislike.

Tommie Arc

Now this one and the next are crimes of Bad Administration. She just isn’t the best manager when considering who she hires and how she treats them in her sophomoric year of streaming. This is something I would say is the first real personality problem she has but it stems from being self unaware.

Tommie is an illustrator and long time friend of Yaki. And they aren’t just friends over the computer but also probably hung out in real life. But Tommie is an illustrator first and foremost doing all types of ludicrous commissions on the Twit Dot Com. Lately, they have been busy with many many commission but Yaki has this big idea.

See, Hazel had recently left and Yaki isn’t gonna make that much money on just her personality (lmao why am I saying it this way) so she’ll need a gimmick besides Pokemon and Sonic. She will become the Vtuber Queen! And just like Luffy, a Vtuber Queen needs a first mate that is the best artist on the planet. Yaki does not have money for the best artist. Instead, she simply asks her dear friend to eventually make her a model, for free, that she could use for Vtubing. Tommie is perhaps a bit excited to help their friend. Now Yaki gives no due date and only gives direction on like color scheme and stuff. Tommie quickly does a profile pic in one day and she was probably elated.

The product comes in mid August although its not 100% finished. Apparently, despite how dumb Vtubing looks, it’s incredibly complicated to get your character to make all the movements they make. So while packed with other work and personal life problems, Tommie is able to finish the front side of the model without doing the ‘rigging’. We will not define what rigging is but Tommie would need to know to finish the job. Now, for some reason only known to Yaki, she was dissatisfied. In the convo that night, she talks about feeling forgotten and stuff since the production was postponed and such but there was NO due date. And it is a complex thing to do for free and Tommie explains what had him so busy.

Also one thing that people should be grossed about, while working on the damn thing, Tommie had some convention to go to. Yaki heads over to their place to help with their cosplay makeup and then leaves saying that she did this so that Tommie could get the work done. I know your desperate to start the career and everything but like relax, this is gross behavior. Tommie probably thought she came over as a friend but then she left like it was just a professional favor.

In the convo, Yaki does misremember a promised due date (Aug 10) for part of it and Tommie corrects her on what the promise was as Tommie knoooows her antics and shit. Yaki still doubles down that they broke a promise as if it was gaslighting, a lie, or a scam. Tommie basically breaks down in confusion as it now sounds like Yaki is judging the merit of the friendship on this one project. Tommie does NOT like this at all because it’s just a dumb vtubing model. Also Tommie has warned her at this point, about their workload and upcoming vacation. They also said to just find someone else at this point. So now Tommie has to reassure her that she’ll still make it big without their specific model and that the friendship could be saved.

Sadge. I will say more on why later but Yaki is acting totally Aries in this convo. She does value the friendship and so that’s why she feels discarded. She brings up the broken promise because her type of people are serious about such a thing. A broken promise would be completely unforgivable to an Aries and thus cause to break the friendship. But that’s where she’s unaware, unwittily correlating a friendship promise and a business promise. Tommie could’ve totally promised everything on the tenth and delivered late but that’s a business issue, not a friendship thing. The result should be Tommie not getting paid rather than just losing a long time personal connection. Tommie wasn’t making the item just to stay friends. BUT THERE WAS NO PAYMENT, OMG! See, there’s the saying “family/friends don’t mix with business” and they don’t, but the answer isn’t to not be in business with family but rather just to not confuse them for one and the same.

Lastly, I love that Tommie attacks Vtubing as a concept. I do hate the models and the kawaii voices. If you don’t want to show your face while streaming, that’s fine, I think that’s how most big people got started. When I started watching VideoGameDunkey, his fans always had this joke that he was a black guy. Then I saw him speak in a video, I was really shocked that he’s not black. It’s totally fine though. The main reason I hate the Virtual girls is they practically all are in the same exact art style, monkey see monkey do to the extreme. If people had dinosaurs as avatars or Peter Griffin in the corner, that shit would be badass. Again, Dunkey will have this donkey avatar in vids sometimes. Shit is just much less annoying and more iconice. Also apparently there is some elitism in the group that Tommie alludes to. They talk about how it wouldn’t be bad if Yaki just went with a png rather than a full virtual because its functionally the same thing and if people are elitist about it, they can fuck off. Talk to em!

So from Tommie, we learn they are slightly badass, socially aware, and kind of just a decent friend. Also a good artist. From Yaki, we learn she probably shouldn’t ask friends for help in her career, she might be impatient, and promises are sacred. Her crime is a Transactional Friendship. She eventually found someone to do her Vtuber model or maybe they solved it here idk, there’s nothing more. The lesson is to only do business with friends/family if you agree it won’t change your relationship. I mean, unless its like murder or something. Like if they murdered someone on the job, you should actually disown them. And rape too. They shouldn’t being doing that. Actually a lot of illegal things. Yeah, just play it by ear.

Mahado Arc

Later in like October of 2022, we have Mahado. Mahado was friendly with Yaki but only knew her via le computer. Mahado Power is regularly a musician but was asked to help edit a video by Yaki. Easy enough, right?

No. I don’t do video editing but this does sound sucky. Yaki had this great idea to do a “Smash or Pass” with every Pokemon. This is of course based off the meme started by Markiplier who did the original video back in February. After him, for the rest of the Godforsaken year, everyone wanted to Smash or Pass Pokémon. There was also a separate meme of using Markiplier for other things. His video might be inspired by Pokemon fetishist being one of the hated communities by Chat. They have an argument that some Pokemon are made to look very fuckable (no they aren’t).

I like to point to these videos as the quintessential joke about the whole fucking Pokemon meme

So I just now checked her Youtube channel to see if any was posted. It’s only on her vod channel which has the full 2 hours and 33 minutes of her deciding on 905 Pokemon. I guess only in October she finally decided to make like a highlights of it perhaps wanting the full list although Mahado’s doc states it was supposed to be up to Sinnoh. That’s still 493 and would include her favorite. That would also be 1 hour and 53 minutes of the recorded video. I think Mahado implies he could shorten it to 45 minutes but eventually he comes down to 21 minutes. To be honest with you, while the Markiplier video is 23 minutes for all Pokemon at that time, he just gives straight answers rather than divulge how hard he would fuck Garchomp. No amount of character study could tell me why Yaki thought only 10 minutes of highlights should be crafted.

So that’s where the conversation starts in the screenshots of Mahado’s doc. She is disappointed that it is any more than ten minutes but is able to accept it. Then she really rips into him. What she gave was the most constructive but whiney critique of his rough draft in which she summarized that his work was sloppy and rushed. She was like a teacher grading that shit. I felt bad for Mahado cause like cutting down the video and maybe adding some meme images overlayed shouldn’t be difficult but it was extremely picky besides that.

Let’s level with Mahado, he just recovered from being sick and dying. It doesn’t seem like he told her this at the time but he just spent two week fighting off the Covid Devil. A powerful foe but Power is Mahado’s last name. And you know, after struggling through that and already getting paid the money for the video, you would want to finish the video even if you kind of rush it. You might forget to add in some specific joke Yaki had or overcut on some part. I would say that the critique is so intimidating, he may forget to excuse himself on why the video sucks so bad but hey dems the breaks.

So she gives him more time to finish and he is unable to so he pays her back half of the commission. Ended up just being a kind of waste of time but really only due to how picky she was. We’ll see this later in the Ultima Arc but to start, as a manager she kind of does ask for a lot without asking for it. Like she’ll give you directions, you’ll do the thing and then she’ll come up with problems as if you were supposed to predict it. It doesn’t seem like she posted any finished product so I guess she was too frustrated with this failure to start the project with someone else.

So Mahado is this strong anti-viral warrior and even a good work partner. From this story, we learn Yaki is super critical or picky. She’s also a ‘fair’ person in that she only asked for half of the money in return since he did work on something and still used up his time. This trait is actually present with Nathan where she tries to pay him back some money and to Tommie where she thinks the makeup favor pays for the Vtuber design. It’s not like she seeks out justice passionately but that she doesn’t want any debtitude, she doesn’t wanna feel like she owes someone or someone owes her. If you read her doc as someone who is debt avoidant rather than blame avoidant, then it does read more positively. You don’t have to. Her crime is Bad Administration and acting Overly Critical. The lesson is twofold. No matter the situation, make sure your employer is aware of your healthiness in order to get the job done. Secondly, employers you either have to give the most clear specific exact directions and/or be more forgiven when your dumb little wage slave fails the task.

  1. Thank you, this actually opened my eyes up a bit to be honest. I was initially neutral on the whole thing until I saw something that actually made go against the crowd(No hate towards anyone) for some reason. But looking at this, it helped give me an explanation why I did.
