Texcoco Dragons: Manhunt Rally

The football field behind everything on campus in a corner of the valley. It was 2/3rds enclosed, on the hillside, by risers that went up to thirty feet. The last thirds was open grass land where team busses could park and where people entered from. The sun was setting as the 6:30 pep rally was bound to start. 20 minutes For them to all sit. The droves came in as crowds of people, some racing for high seats, and others just dragging their feet as they chatted with friends. Some looked around for hotties and some kept their head down to text on their phone. It was overcast today.

Emilia hooked her arm in Lynda’s as Lynda dragged her through the sea of people. Lynda had noticed Danny but found herself 30 feet apart. “This is disgusting,” Ravi said, on the stands looking over the people. The guys were already on the top row as they got here super early. “Jerry, if you meet anyone in that, you’re lucky.”

“He’s already down there,” Chris said.

“Oh shit. Max too?”

“And Tyson.”

“Jeez. Us”

“Danny!”

“Oh yo Lynda what’s up?” he said the girl who just popped up in the circle of friends. This circle was standing still among the sea for some reason. There were several groups meeting friends like this.

“Nothing I was just dying to see you. This pep rally’s crazy,” she responded. Sensing the many boys in the circle, Emilia slipped out of Lynda’s hold and turned around to Marcia walking by. Marcia was kicking a white pebble as she walked forward. Emilia didn’t see Elizabeth nearby. That’s so sad and she looks nice today. She could cheer up Marcia by telling her this but Marcia noticed her anyway.

“We failed the test today.”

“Huh? Oh that, what do you mean?”

“I’m kidding. We both cheated off Lizzie, we’re fine. Are you gonna sit with someone?”

“Um I mean,” she glanced back but had been pushed out of the circle now. The boys surrounded Lynda and some other girl all enlightening each other’s day. “No, I guess not.”

“Then lets go, honey.”

Ethan was lying uncomfortably with Bree who held his arm. She was now singing a song that no one requested. Ethan wondered if she had friends. Then Barto knocked on the door saying, “hey I’m going to the pep rally with Claire, bye.”

“Oh fuck, that thing’s mandatory…” muttered Ethan.

Bree rose out of the bed, “gotta piss”. Then she turned to say, “don’t you go anywhere babe.”

Once she closed the bathroom door, Xiley opened the closet door. He started with, “how is gaming a hobby? Everybody plays games, even Facebook moms go crazy on Candy Crush. Is breathing another one of your hobbies?”

“Anything you want to say to actually help me here?”

“She thinks she’s bonding with you. This woman, you are her full obsession.”

“Oh great, even if she had friends, they are valued less than me.”

“A person like this, you simply murder.”

“You do that. You’ve probably done it before.”

“I have never taken a life. Have the yandere kill her at this public event.”

“The yandere?”

“The other girl from the vents. She loves you obsessively as well but to a lethal point considering she already threatened the other girls. So if she sees you at the rally with this one, she’ll kill. Then She’ll be arrested. Two birds, one stone.”

“You earned another week in that closet.” Xiley slammed the door shut. “Just one pep rally…ew…”

“Actually, I think every trans citizen should have RPGs to protect themselves against the genocidal Republican party. The best defense is self defense,” answered this curly Haired chubby kid. He had thick rimmed glasses and a goofy smile.

The tall pale brown hair boy holding up a sign that said ‘Gun Rights Debate Me’ responded, “shut the fuck up Nicholas, nobody’s laughing at your edgy jokes today.”

“Shits not edgy, Rick. In today’s America, that would be a guaranteed right with the second amendment.”

“It’s Frederick from you.”

“It’s about to be retard from me.”

Some kids in the circle giggled at this. Federick posted himself on the bottom and far right side of the stands to get quick debates. He was destroying nervous opponents before but the always charismatic Nicholas had arrived. These two were sophomores. By now, many parts of the stands have friend groups seated and at least half up, seats were full. People were too tired to walk all of the way up even if it was the coolest spot. Elsewhere at the bottom, Maximo accidentally walked into a girl who crawled by as she chased a lizard. “Oh shit,” he helped her stand up, “hope I didn’t shatter your ribs.”

She sighed, “only crushed my dreams of catching that leopard gecko.”

Maximo looked on the girl as he held her wrists and she stared at the sky. Well it wasn’t for that long but it felt like that. She was wearing a green tank top with black straps and a denim skirt. Her huge boobs could be seen from the side and Max took note of her bubble butt. She lowered her head which held buzz cut green hair and thick black eyebrows. Her eyes were a deep green. “Shit, I’m Max, I’ll help you find that little critter. It can’t be that hard.”

“Oh sure, guard me while I crawl on the ground so no one steps on me anymore,” she said showing off her bruises. “Oh I’m Lisa by the way.”

Lisa immediately fell on all fours and then Maximo stepped over her so she was under his legs. He spread his arms boxing people out from passing by. Lucky for him, Lisa’s ass stayed high in the air as she followed the little lizard across the bottom. The lizard looked back and hissed in protest. Then it dashed forward but the two remained on its tail. Then the lizard hopped onto a lacrosse stick of a student. It stayed on the ride as the lacrosse kids casually walked up the stands. Max and Lisa exchanged looks before following the kids like normal.

On the opposite side of the stands, “oh NO! I lost Aldophus!” shouted this Muslim girl. She had brown skin and her hair covered by a dark purple hijab. She wore a sweater and long skirt. She still had sparkly braces on her teeth. “Did you see where he went?”

Her, for lack of a better term, Golden-retriever boyfriend replied, “it’s a leopard gecko, it won’t be hard to find. I bet he just fell between the seats. We can go under to try to find him.”

“But we’re halfway up, he could’ve gotten hurt if he fell.”

“Fatima, it’ll be fine!” He repeated. She pouted. Alexander shrugged with an earnest smile. Alex had blonde broccoli hair and a freckled baby face. He was thin, wearing a crew sweater and shorts.

“Fatima, it will be horrible!” stated Tiffany from the otherside. Tiffany stood at an outlying 5’0″. She was scrawny and flat. She recently dyed her hair orange. She wore ring glasses and a sweater with a long floral skirt. “My Asian senses are tingling, Aldophus has been stolen by a powerful force!”

“Noooooooo!”

“Tiff why would you say that?”

It doesn’t matter where, the blacks always gave to congregate, thought Frederick as he looked at the center stands where 5 rows of black students had indeed congregated. In the middle of that group was Bobby who finished telling a story, “tell me why he then wanted me to call him nigga?? Or they but like-” and they broke into snickering.

On the side of one row, a girl high-fived the first lacrosse girl walking by. She sat quietly for a moment and then turned around to ask, “hey when are you guys playing a game”

The girl shrugged, “I don’t know in like a month.” She smiled back at the girl and then kept walking up. This girl was the shortest on either lacrosse team, at 4’10”. She had bright red hair cut into a mullet, pale skin, and big smiling lips. She had a nose ring, a thick ring of mascara around her eyes, and several tattoos down her arm. With thick upper arms and thighs, she wore a bralet and shorts. Patricia led the lacrossers up the stairs toward the top. The boys and girls were all having several discussions among them as the gecko sat within one of their sticks. Patricia then looked back down and spotted one of her teammates at the bottom. “Hahah, that guy’s still flirting with her.”

“Ugh, really? She’s not even that cute. I’ve got bigger boobs then her,” said the preppy blonde Denise.

Anothter teammate pointed out, “You always get guys, you just can’t keep them.”

“She always gets black guys too. Don’t worry sweetie, they only get scared cause lacrosse is so white.”

“True, why did that girl join?” asked a third team member. Then they started theorizing and gossiping about Rainy. Rainy’s a light brown with a small curly afro and a very fit build with decent boobs. Rainy glanced back up at her team who were nearly up to the top.

Then she looked back at Jerry who exclaimed, “Oh that’s why you joined lacrosse, you got a white dad. That totally makes sense, no offense. So how long you’ve been playing?”

“Like since I was 7. But I gotta go meet my team before all the seats are taken.”

Jerry followed her gaze but the lacrosse team was only further down than his own friends at the top row. I see Max caught something too. “So at least 11 years, cool. But wait, I’m still interested in you so let me,” he grabbed her from the front and held her on his waist.

“Wait- isn’t this embarrassing??”

“I’ll be so quick they won’t see me!” Of course, running at such speed holding such weight also meant attracting more attention as his stomps echoed through the whole audience.

“I mean, you guys should see my car,” Tyler said to these skimpy bimbo students at the bottom. The stands became near full by now so the bottom was emptying out of people. Feeling the death of vibe, the girls left Tyler alone. “Ugh, seniors…”

The bubbly Lynda and Meredith sat with Danny’s fraternity on the second row. They sat next to each other, surrounded by the boys at every angle. Meredith was this big black girl at 5’10” with a round face. “They like us fat beaches, heheheheh” Meredith and Lynda giggled at each other.

Grant, this freckled kid with spiked brown hair on the lacrosse team, screamed like a bitch upon finding the gecko. “Ew ew ew ew, get this disgusting thing away from me!” They instructed him to just swing his club which sent the travel-bound Aldophus into someone’s Subway sandwich. “Don’t laugh at me, that was a gross lizard!”

“Damn, but we don’t give up, right?” Max asked Lisa. She huffed and shook her head. “Vamenos!”

“You survived the climb,” Ravi said to this girl who sat next to him. She was catching her breath, Paloma, but she gave an eye roll. She had wavy brown hair, golden brown skin, and thick square glasses. She stood at 5’7″ with a slightly chubby build. She wore what could only be found in a librarians closet.

“Well I decided it might not be so bad to sit with you today.”

“Ew, gross, Paloma trying to be friendly.”

“Shut up, you were staring at me the whole way up.”

“Uh huh.”

“We made it!” Bree exclaimed, clutching Ethan’s arm.

“Yes, now only if there was a huge screen to showcase us.” They were lucky to make it indeed as they sat on the second row and the stands were nearly full. The two sat next to David and his girls.

Emilia and Marcia finally found their seats. They didn’t talk much as they walked but Emilia kept looking around for Elizabeth. They sat next to Barto and Claire, right below the black section. Marcia noticed Anna at the bottom looking lost and waved her over. Emilia looked across bulging group of students and thought, this really is a gross amount of people.

The final students found patches of grass to sit on or sat on other people. Some of the professors came out setting up audio equipment as Dean Dean took ‘center stage’.
