Éhes Diéta, Finálé

-yes the final chapter of this rescue arc. The main part of it, lol.

-there’s this funny but embarrassing moment from pseudohistory about the Habsburg, that I HAD to put in here. Enjoy it, it potentially happened for real.

-Also this part might have been a bit rushed, it will probably have to be amended for the final draft.

In Warsaw, Mazovia….the Poles noted that the Lithuanians were entering the country. It would seem the Grand Duke had a large retinue of 1000 horsemen. He was seated in a red cloaked carriage. The Poles also noted that the horse towing his carriage had a magical aura so it was indeed a familiar and not a regular horse.

Now the Hungarians were made to live in a hotel in Krakow–rather than Wawel–and could only occasionally check on Hedwig since she was so busy with administration. She was continuously protected by Miklos and Janos Garai; although Wilhelm and Sigismund watched her from afar while also watching each other. Her first Sejm meeting was lasting weeks as each family head stipulated their specific privileges and liberties within their own voivodeship (or province). She also had to quickly learn Polish from Naderspan (who could translate Hungarian to Polish). Basically, she had no way to disagree with each Szchlata.

One night, snow lightly fell on the city. Sigismund was strolling through town with Stibor after they finished drinking. “Oh yeah, that reminds me, are you actually Polish? You didn’t answer Siemowit.”

“Yeah, I’m a Kujawian from the Ostoja clan. But I moved to Hungary to serve Lajos personally.”

“So you know the Freeze Step? I’ve seen it before.” It is a magic technique where the user is enveloped with freezing properties from various sources (the most common is ice). Then they can occasionally freeze opponents that block their attacks. It is not a controllable thing as the best can have it be activated 50% of the time. The freezing is fragile, even the person under it can break out by flexing their muscles. But in the one second that they are frozen, they might suffer other damage from the user. It is seemingly an old magic that has spread across the Baltic from Scandinavia where it is known to originate from Jotunheim. The races that use it nowadays include the Norse, Rus, Balts, and Poles. “Is there an easy counter to it?”

“No? Not really supposed to be. I guess you could drink a heat potion of some kind.”

“Damn well could you teach it to me?”

Stibor thought about it for a moment and then said, “no way, you’re good enough on your own. Lajos didn’t even know it.”

“Oh whatever!”

They noticed a shadow cross the dark road toward Wawel Castle. Sigismund stopped and then changed directions. Stibor unquestioningly followed him.

Going around the campus, the stranger reached the backside where Hedwig’s window was. He removed his overcoat showing that it was indeed Wilhelm Habsburg who was sneaking around. He threw some pebbles into the window and then Hedwig appeared there. “My beautiful lady, it is I, Wilhelm!”

“Willy!”

“Shhh, I haven’t been able to see you but I wanted to confess my undying love to you. And you should forget about the old man Jogalia, we are meant for each other, you know this.”

“Yeah? But the Poles don’t really like you.”

“Please let me up there so we can talk. We can come to some sort of agreement. I surely can’t leave Poland without seeing you!”

“Okay well go-” and she was suddenly pulled away.

Next, Janos showed up in the window. “Hey, who’re you? Get away from here.” Wilhelm flashed him with Lucem and scurried off.

Miklos pulled Hedwig to her bed, “you must be more careful than that. A killer could have sniped you in the window!”

“Do people really do that? And I was fine, it was just my Willy.”

The brothers took a step back. Then Miklos said, “oh you mean a person.”

“Huh? Whatever. Can you guys leave? A king has to sleep sometimes.” She gave a very bright smile and the two melted.

“Yes King,” they said and immediately left.

At the back gate of the campus, Wilhelm equipped an axe. Some civilians passing by noticed him but only looked on at first. In three slow swings, he broke the gate open. Damn that was loud. He slowly spread it open but it creeeeeaaaaked throughout the street. Wilhelm cringed. At this point, the civilians started shouting Polish and pointing at him. He quickly closed the gates behind him and ran inside. As he snuck toward her chambers, he blinded and quickly knocked out each guard. Then he stopped in the last hallway. Being that he surveyed the floors when they were freed, he was able to navigate easily. He crouched and used a small hand mirror to look down the hallway. The Garai boys were pacing in opposite directions, guarding her door. Here comes Doofus and Dunderhead. With raw talent, Wilhelm threw his voice down the hall and so they both turned in that direction. Quickly, Wilhelm came behind Janos and used his knee to knock him out while he covered his mouth with his hand. Janos still hit the floor loudly and so Miklos turned around. He immediately leapt at Wilhelm who bounced toward him. Dammit, I’m tryna do this all cool.

They clashed blades again and again while Miklos whispered at him, “you fiend, you’re the Habsburg. The King doesn’t wanna talk to you! No one wants to!”

“You are quite literally some lowlife!” and then he grabbed Miklos’ neck, choking him until he was knocked out. Tossing him to the ground, Wilhelm said, “forgive me for your impudence.”

Then he entered the bedroom, immediately closing the door, and there was Hedwig brushing her bright brown hair with just her blanket covering her. The 16 year old Habsburg reacted as expected, “Hedwig, I’m here for you.”

“Awwww, it’s been so long! I missed you,” she tackled him to the ground.

“And you’re the most beautiful thing I’ve seen since I’ve last seen you.” And they fucked.

While they fucked, a large crowd of civilians gathered outside the castle, shouting calls of an intruder and a regicidal murderer. The few guards stationed were awake now but only one was sent to check on the king while the others held back the crowds. Sigismund and Stibor watched the scene from a rooftop across the street. “You don’t want to do anything?”

“Not yet,” the former answered. So they continued watching.

The guard reached the bedroom door but it seemed stuck and could not open. He went to another room and shouted at the guards below to climb the side of the castle. They formed a human ladder and then, suddenly, a civilian scaled them and dived into the window. The others were surprised and a bit stunned. Then the man came back to the window shouting, “Będą się pieprzyć!”

Sigismund and Stibor dropped their jaws, whose fucking!?!?! The civilian was blasted out by some spell. Wilhelm got right back to it after that. Unfortunately for him, before he could even ejaculate, the civilians made their way through the castle and busted down the door. They dragged him out of her and out to the streets. He was crying and tried to fight back but he would be collectively punted way across the Vistula. He found some clothing and ran his ass out of Poland as they threw stones and hammers at him.

With a hearty laugh, Sigismund declared, “Hahahahahaha, I will remember this!”

Good for Wilhelm to even barely break her virginity. A few days later, Jogalia was well received by Krakow. He met with Hedwig very gentlemanly, kneeling down and kissing her hand. He acted very kind to her in public although he couldn’t directly talk to her. Hanul, a German man from Riga, would translate Lithuanian to German while Naderspan translated from German to Hungarian for Hedwig. Even then, they couldn’t share the same humor as Jogalia was 26 and Hedwig was 12. With Archbishop Bodzanta, the couple would be married in Krakow. Bodzanta also Baptized Jogaila for this to be legal and he pledged that all of Lithuania would be converted to the Catholic Church (although some of their Russian land was already a part of the Greek Church). Jogalia felt troubled that Wilhelm was so nationally embarrassed by that night so he sent 200k florins to Wilhelm which was never accepted. Now they would be crowned together as Królowa Jadwiga Anjou (how the Poles pronounced her name from writing) and Król Władysław II Jagiełło (the first being his Christian name). This marriage brought the native Lithuanian Gedminas Dynasty into the Caroli. Jogalia is also half Russian as his mom is from Tver, bringing the Yurievichi family, apart of the grand Rurik family, closer to–but not apart of–the Caroli
