Daredevil Color Saga
Now I really like the Born Again series so far–despite the shitty concept of just making Kingpin mayor in one episode–but I really really would’ve gone in a different direction. I mean partially it sucks to have such a big 5 year time skip from these characters but that’s kind of what Feige is asking for when the Russo brothers do a timeskip in the MIDDLE of the movie. I was thinking of another 3 seasons, one per phase, that would just continue with no soft reboot outside of the tone of the show. Each season would have it’s own tone from lighter to eventually darker to demonstrate the range of DD’s comic history. Each have enough to be 13 episodes HIGHKEY. This first season would come out just a month before Hawkeye.
Yellow: To start, DD would be fighting some goons some where when they and then he gets turned to dust. 5 years later, Matt wakes up from the dust in great shock. The entire first episode would be people coming back to dust and recovering from that. Cars run certain people over people fall out of the air, arguments and fights about property ownership. After running around town helping with all that, his own apartment would be occupied by a new couple and Hell’s Kitchen has been gentrified. It’s now a middle class millennial haven or whatever it is in real life. Catching up with (District Attorney) Foggy and Marci Nelson have a child and Karen is now a super professional private investigator. They have a tearful reunion and Matt picks up his job with Foggy and drops the suit after being convinced how safe the city is these days.
The next 12 episodes would deal with a rise of strange criminals and silly hijinks. I would give Matt 3 episodes of freedom before he hires Jacobson to make him the new yellow costume. He would also learn that Fisk wasn’t dusted and still suffering in jail. Also at Foggy’s firm is Kirsten McDuffie who sometimes flirts with Matt in rivalry with Karen. Mahomey is Chief Detective and Claire Temple works at FEAST as a volunteer nurse. In any case, I don’t mind White Tiger making his debut here as he could stop the villain in episode 2 and 3 with lawyer Matt’s help, the villain being Matador. Then would be the case of Stilt Man where he would find he can’t always rely on Hector who only helps folks in Little Boricua. With the return of DD, other villains will show up to get their lick back including the Owl (Leland Jr who commits several attacks), Gladiator (who thinks yellow DD is a copycat for an episode), Bullseye (actually on a assignation job unconcerned with Murdock), and Echo (a random assailant who appears and disappears out of nowhere). There would be a new one, Jester, who just does criminal pranks. This season would be very monster of the week but also shot brighter with more daytime scenes and higher comedy. Throughout the season, he becomes suspicious Foggy’s investors and the judges in place and begins to investigate them. He will also have friction with Karen due to lost time and her pride. In the last three episodes, Owl exposes his identity to media sources but Matt uses a ‘Mike Murdock’ twin persona to protect Foggy’s firm. New police chief Cole North would still want him arrested despite Mahomey’s reservations. The Owl, behind the investors, will then commit a huge prison break with hefty bribery to have previous criminals perform a manhunt on the Swashbuckler of Hell’s Kitchen. These would be villains in his rogue gallery not yet adapted but this plot is to free any villain in Rykers, even Vulture. Eventually this army and the Owl is defeated with help from White Tiger, Gladiator, and the other Defenders. Mike Murdock is pardoned by the mayor and North (in terms of respect) as long as he gives up being Daredevil. Foggy steps down from DA due to feeling guilty but Matt says his goodbyes as he decides to leave NY until it dies down.
In between seasons, he’ll get to guest star in She-Hulk, H4H and of course, timeline wise he would show up in No Way Home during this season.
Also with the timeline; before Wilson Fisk was freed by the Owl, he had kept tabs with the Tracksuits via Ben Donovan his lawyer. But then of course the Hawkeyes beat them and then Echo shoots his face. Echo was being used to try to kill DD for Fisk but now she will be on her own path along with Fisk on his own.
Rose: Matt has a bitter sweet break up with Jennifer Walters before returning to NYC as his year outside is over. After seeing his friends again, he settles for public defender work. Sister Maggie has him meet a new churchgoer, Mary Walker (still Alice Eve). Mary is a new convert and the two immediately hit it off. In episode 2, bloody murals and disappears spread throughout the city along with reports of disappearances. We’d follow White Tiger’s investigation on it for this episode and he would come to discover Muse. Nearly getting killed by Muse, he breaks into Matt’s apartment to warn him about the murderer. After getting a new red suit (with a hood), Matt would deal with Muse for a few episodes. Each episode we would see Fisk recover in Vanessa’s arms.
The middle arc of the season would deal with Echo’s journey back to her village to reconnect with her ancestors. Vanessa would send her new guard Buck “Bullet” Cashman to eliminate Echo and they fight but Fisk would tell him to pull back in order to apologize. The apology fails. Echo goes to Murdock asking him to call on Daredevil to help her. Fisk then hires new mercenary ‘Typhoid’ to kill Echo while she was waiting at the rendezvous location but she survives the fight. She texts Matt to have DD meet somewhere else and they successfully do. Here she would explain the whole situation with Fisks rn and how Vanessa is the one handling criminals now. They go to an old Tracksuit base and beat up drug traffickers when Bullet shows up with Vanessa. Echo gets injured and they retreat. Echo will be healed next to Hector by Claire at FEAST. Next episode, Mary wants to volunteer at FEAST which Matt uses as an excuse to continue talking with Echo who will recognize Mary and attack her. Matt’s confused despite Echo’s warning. Buck Cashman and Vanessa then come publicly to give a donation to the FEAST people who are happy to receive it. Claire is worried so, overnight, DD watches over FEAST which is when Bullet would jump him with other goons. Meanwhile, Typhoid would go in to finish Echo although she is helped by injured Hector and Claire. Hector dies in this fight and the villains retreat. Echo leaves the hospital disappearing. The next day the patients are poisoned by the drinking water and FEAST has to be evacuated. Claire brings the tiger amulet to the Ayala family Matt reports to North who warns him that DD better not be involved in recent events. Young adult Ava will become the new White Tiger by the finale.
Before that, Karen and Jessica finds other bases that may be used by the Fisks for Mahomey to investigate while Matt tries to interrogate Mary at their next church meeting. Mary has him walk her home and they make out before she falls into her Walker personality that desperately tries to warn Matt about the other persona before she is shut down to sleep. Mary would wake up with no memory but explains her condition to Matt. Matt goes to Maggie for advice. At Red Hook (actually mentioned back in Iron Fist), Vanessa consolidates illegal material while cops chase bad leads. DD senses this and chases the moving material. He feels too physically weak to fight when Bullseye snipes at him (hired by Bullet). Bullseye would chase DD all through town until Luke Cage saves him. Luke and Matt raid Red Hook fighting through an army of thugs with new White Tiger helping them out. Matt will have his final fight with Typhoid who taunts him with differently personalities. Wilson fights White Tiger, Luke gets to one tap Bullet before Vanessa uses a video of captured Claire to defeat him and then Ava’s captured family to defeat her. Typhoid nearly kills Daredevil as he gets fully exhausted from her poison. Then ninjas would swarm Red Hook and Elektra would rescue Matt. She would tell Fisk, “Gao sends her regards”, physically disturbing him before fade to black.
Throughout this season, Matt and Mary would have theological discussions about choice, temptation, and sin as she forms her faith. Obviously though, her alters don’t leave her with much positive growth. Walker would not have any control as the Typhoid personality pushes it down. We would see a LOT less of Foggy and Karen but they would still come around sometimes for talks as well but in general I want to slowly isolate him. This season should also not nearly be as funny with any humor being macabre. Muse would spend his arc critiquing sinners including Daredevil while Echo’s arc shows how one can choose redemption even after sinning. She and Matt would communicate via a tablet they type on. He does not have the time to learn ASL. Lastly, this season, much of NY would think that Matt Murdock is connected or is the new Daredevil since his twin was the last one. But he will always reinstate that he isn’t and the only ones who know are Foggy, Karen, Claire, Wilson, Vanessa, Dex, and Cashman. Oh and Luke duh.
Nothing would really happen in-between but the next season would be out before Doomsday in Phase 6.
Shadow: the last season of Daredevil for now would begin in complete darkness as Matt and Elektra have a conversation of how she survived. Now, if Matt survived Midland Circle falling on him, I know a zombie Elektra could. Hell, they were cuddling when the water washed them away. Then she found Madame Gao who was doing great and the two would separate for a time before reconnecting during the blip. “I always watched over you, waited for you, not knowing when exactly it’d be safe to reconnect.” Gao would have a new Hand army from China that Elektra became Master of. Gao returned due to Ronin slaying them in Japan. When Matt returned from dust, Gao agreed that Elektra could go after Matt only once he’s completely alone, “he wouldn’t take you any other way”. Then she would explain that Matt died from Typhoid’s poison but they revived him with a new ritual that only works once and only instantly after death 😉 . She tries to make out with him but he will be in disbelief about the situation. He would meet Gao once again, she has a garden in their castle that she takes care of. He learns that she does not want to sow chaos anymore, “chaos reigns and has reigned since Midland Circle fell”. Matt would meet her star student, Blindspot, who is required to protect him and not let him leave. The other ninja seem to revere him as well, they even wear devil masks. He’ll spend the episode trying to defeat Blindspot so that he could leave but Elektra proposes marriage to him, “if we get married, you get to be master of the Hand, we’ll do whatever you want and never kill”. A few weeks will past with him feeling for Elektra again by the end.
With the second episode, Matt finally beats Blindspot and escapes. There is a mayoral race with “MET Queen” Vanessa Fisk and “King of Harlem” Luke Cage is deep in campaigns. Speeches and debates occur as Vanessa defends her marriage to super criminal Wilson, “he is a reformed man and our continued marriage is strength of that reform”. Later, Matt learns from Jessica that her husband is being forced to run as a ‘Crow-show’. Foggy, Karen, Colleen, and Ava are in his campaign team though and he genuinely wants to win. As black tracksuit DD, he goes around town searching for where they might be keeping Claire. Finding her, he tries to rescue her but Vanessa has police chase after him like a kidnapper. They arrest him and detain him with the mask. Claire is tortured in his earshot. He asks for Detective Mahomey only to tell him how Vanessa ordered the murder of Agent Ray Nadeem years ago. But North has been on the side of Vanessa (due to her anti-vigilantism) and keeps Matt in confinement. Next episode, at the next mayoral debate, questions of Nadeem are asked and afterwards North questions Vanessa about it but her alibi is that she didn’t know it happened. She knows Nadeem was watching over Fisk but assumed Dex killed him on his own when he became disloyal. So then North moves forward with the courts giving Matt a hearing for all his vigilantism. Jen Walters (human mode) would defend him on the basis that certain crimes were broken for the greater good. But the judge will air on the side against vigilantism (obviously chosen by Vanessa) and have Matt moved to trial. Bullet would bring Foggy and Mahomey near the jail to execute him in Matt’s earshot. Later that night, Elektra will rescue him arguing that even the system was failing him. From now the campaign dichotomy would be about pro or anti vigilantism. Matt would marry Elektra in his church, like she wants, and he would get that black suit with the red DD on his chest as the new master of the Hand.
So I just wanted to over explain things because Born Again under explained the circumstances of Mayor Fisk when it doesn’t have to be that way. Next is a summation of the rest of the season (which was much longer).
(episodes 4 to 8) Act 2 will be a Fear arc with Lawerence Cranston releasing his fear gas on NYC after the Fisks kidnap his cousin. Before that happens, the election will be decided in Vanessa’s favor with her having Luke, Colleen, and Ava as her deputy mayors to continue to control them. After the election, DD will use the hand to take over Hell’s Kitchen specifically to protect the civilians although it is much like a police state with ninja around every corner. Anyone even considering jaywalking will get very public trials where they are forced into community retribution. Matt’s ninjas will also kidnap his friends in other towns to keep them in HK. It will only help Vanessa’s anti-vigilante political allaince but she will slow DD down with the fear gas. After Elektra is confirmed preggers, DD will have a fearsome episode partially adapting Guardian Devil. Gao will not help him mentally. Other characters will deal the fear as well while the Fisks consolidate their criminal and political power with their ‘hired heroes’ taking out their competition. Blindspot would defeat Mr Fear and save his cousin from Fisk in his own special episode. Now episode 3 will introduce purse snatcher Parker Robins who is down on his luck and wants to make big money. During these episodes, he will also be overwhelmed by fear and turn to the devil, Mephisto, who will grant him the invisibility cape which he uses to steal from Fisk’s criminal enterprises as the Hood.
Act 3 will continue the conflict between Hell’s Kitchen and the rest of Manhattan lmao. Matt will try to lead his army into Red Hook to rescue Claire but will be interrupted when both the Punisher and Bullseye intervene trying to get their own kill on the Fisks. I would have a nice long three way fight between DD, Pun, and Bulls on the subway. Neither of them like each other but they will all survive. Vanessa will try to recruit Moon Knight into her scheme to attack Hell’s Kitchen along with Luke Cage, Ava, and Colleen. The siege of HK will be popularly supported due to her propaganda but also North’s and others fears of the genuine devil. The heroes do want to pacify Matt as they jump in, meanwhile Frank takes out teams of ninjas on his own invasion. Matt will only have like 100 ninja from Gao so there’s alot for Frank and others to take down. With the Hood’s help, Bullseye will be able to finally assassinate Vanessa although a vengeful Fisk will nearly kill the both of them. After, the city will mourn her death and Wilson will use her as a martyr. Fisk will then use his criminal power to take over the government of the City of New York, putting the island on lockdown with North as his loyal lapdog. He’ll wear red on red as an honor to Vanessa’s blood during this part of the season. Luke will take a defeated Murdock to confession to absolve him of his sins while Elektra and Blindspot also apologize to others. Claire and Karen will make Matt a new white DD suit with no mask. When North and the NYPD try to occupy HK, the streets will be empty of ninja and Gao will surrender herself. She’ll get a last convo with Fisk which will help him grieve.
The penultimate episode will be a heroic march across the city led by Luke Cage and Karen Page with posters of Foggy and Mahomey. They end the march at the mayor’s office. DD, Elektra, and Blindspot sneak inside from behind. Karen asks Mayor Fisk to come out. They have their last convo on the steps with Frank right behind her despite the cops. Those inside defeat Bullet and Typhoid with easy. Learning the trick from Colleen, Matt flushes out her bad personality and talks to Mary to personally absolve her of sins. “It was never your fault”. Then, he goes outside surprising Fisk a bit. As they talk over things (and Fisk throws punches), Matt forces mercy on the Kingpin of Crime.
But then, Ronin comes in and stabs through Fisk’s chest and fully decapitates him! The person in the Ronin outfit shows their face, it’s fucking Echo!
The last episode, Fisk is buried and there is a proper funeral for Foggy. Luke is later made mayor of New York and he legalizes the ‘Defenders of New York’ law that both pardons Matt and puts a policy of police working with heroes and not against. North apologizes to Matt and others blaming himself for Foggy dying. Elektra and Matt annul their marriage and she decides to travel the world again. Blindspot reveals his identity and becomes another regular hero. Matt enters civilian life and time passes until a week later. He’s in his apartment when he hears gun shots and polices sirens at the MET. Dawning his homemade suit with the ropes, he chases on rooftops after the culprit who stole a diamond crown. The Hood! Hood avoids and kills police and then fights DD once. He beats DD with his invisibility but escapes when police catch up. DD rides with North in a silent car as he can kind of follow Hood’s breathing. Hood makes it to his hide out and calls his contact, but DD ambushes him from the shadows. They fight until North breaks in and Hood jumps out the window. While riding the subway, he prays to Mephisto for advice and he tells him all about DD’s abilities. Meanwhile, DD prays to God in North’s car. God answers with the voice of Foggy Nelson telling him some silly story about making a connection with strangers. At Red Hook, DD looks around for the buyer but then Hood jumps him. They fight but this time DD talks more, being his yellow self but also compassionate. Robin eventually opens up about how he lost his dad to Fisk years ago which is why he has been trying to steal from him. He wishes he could kill Fisk so he killed Bullet and Mary Walker after their arrest. In anger DD beats on him on the ground with back breaking punches. The contact arrives, being Turk Barret holding a gun on Matt but then North arrests him. As Hood writhes in pain, Mephisto shows up and gives DD illusions about killing him. Elektra, Stick, Gao, Frank, Typhoid, Fisk all show up cheering him to kill him. Even Robin starts cheering him on. But then Jack Murdock, Foggy, Ben Urich, Father Lamtom, Danny Rand ect tell him not to. Matt then uses a primal scream to rip up the invisibility cloak. Matt falls back arms spread across the floor. North comes in to arrest Robin. Fade to black.
Heroes4Hire
Now as much as I like the other Defenders shows, I don’t think we need to bring those shows back. Jessica’s side cast was decently weak, Danny basically only has Colleen and Misty would be shared with Luke who also barely has side characters. So it’d be better if they teamed up as an ensemble cast for this show. This show would be a lot simpler and maybe just 18 episodes with Luke and Danny serving as the main characters. It would come out sometime after Yellow.
What I would have is that Danny and Colleen got dusted but Luke and Jess were still around. She helped him come down from the throne in Harlem’s Paradise and they would partner on cases. They eventually fall in love and get married. This would be the first episode. Episode 2 would start with the other couple coming back. They return to Ward Meachum who gives Danny the final clues on finding Orson Randall but the man his died and his students give Danny his backstory. Episode 3 would then start after the Owl freed the prisoners. Misty is requested by the city handle to other escapees with whatever she can, Colleen comes to her aid. But Danny and Luke (now Jess is preggers) get attacked by Davos and Diamondback starting a new ‘rivalry’. The show from there would be the 5 of them against Davos and Diamondback’s new gang operations along with other villains such the Serpent Society or Maggia guys. I would have DD show up in the last climax episodes. Punisher would also get an episode in there as an antag that Danny (called ‘Goldilocks’) and Luke (dubbed ‘Sheriff’) don’t mesh with. Other characters I would like include Shades (Meachum’s new bodyguard), Hellcat (reformed and joins team), perchance Cloak and Dagger (from Freeform) for an episode, and Bushmaster (the new King of Harlem) along with other black and brown heroes/villains we haven’t seen yet. I would want to vibe to be fairly light, semi fast paced, and hip hop in sound. We would bring back some Harlem artist to perform each episode. But ever since I had the idea for this show, “Punk Tactics” by Brae and Joey Valence was the theme song for it. In the last episode, Danny will sacrifice himself in battle leaving Colleen to be the last remaining Iron Fist. Jessica’s baby will be named in his honor but I’m not done with Finn yet.
The show would have just this one season as all of their villains would be defeated anyways and story arcs wrapped up. We will see most of them again though soon…
Maximum Punisher
This would not be a show because this character in the MCU does not deserve a full show anymore if its gonna be slow paced. This should be a full length film similar to John Wick, Extraction, or Mission Impossible: IV in tone. I mean this character is Marvel’s most basic action movie character let’s be serious. Rater R as well of course. I would have this one be Jon Berthenal dealing with Barracuda who would be a terrorist warlord this time. US government (via Dinah Madani) hires him to get rid of the guy and we are just thrown into the action. Micro could show up in the film as his CIA contact and resupplier since those two actors like to work together. Just 2 hours of action; guns, blood, explosions and maybe a tiny few jokes. It would come out in Phase 5 but I don’t think it should make too many MCU references as it isn’t connected and isn’t necessarily important. And this would be the 4th film for this character damn.
